Our cleaning products If stored in accordance with the specified storage conditions, they will generally keep for more than 2 years. Temperatures between 5 °C and 25 °C are ideal for ensuring a long shelf life.
How long do ready-to-use mixtures keep?
Once FMO cleaning concentrates have been mixed with water (tap water), their shelf life is usually reduced to around 2–3 weeks. The nutrients they contain cause the microorganisms present in tap water to multiply Micro-organisms erratic.
Can FMO cleaners be exposed to direct sunlight?
No, the cleaning products should be stored away from direct sunlight or UV light.
Can FMO cleaners be premixed with water several weeks before use?
No, even tap water contains microorganisms that react with the ingredients. This can cause the FMO cleaners to curdle. The cleaners should therefore only be diluted immediately before use.
How can I tell when a cleaning product should no longer be used?
If the consistency of the cleaner changes (e.g. it becomes thicker) or its smell changes, this is usually a sign that it no longer has its original effectiveness or has gone off. Cleaners labelled „Shake before use“ normally form layers when in their original state; shaking them mixes the contents evenly again – this is nothing to worry about. If a cleaner without this label forms layers or deposits, or if its smell and consistency have noticeably changed, the cleaner has gone off and should no longer be used.
