FMO water bodies

FMO Gewässer is a 100 % native, liquid oil-binding agent for removing oil films from water bodies. It is sprayed undiluted onto the oil film – in a single step. Follow-up treatment or disposal is not usually necessary; please check with the relevant authority to see whether authorisation is required in individual cases.

Natural decomposition on the water’s surface

Biological surfactants break down the oil film, whilst nutrients activate the microorganisms present in the water. These microorganisms naturally break down the hydrocarbons within a few days. In this way, they help to restore the natural balance of the water body.

A strong response to accidents in ports and along the coast

If oil spills in a harbour, marina or along the coast, oil booms and skimmers cannot reach every spot – for example, between rock embankments and quay walls, under jetties, between closely moored boats or in heavily overgrown areas along the shore. This is precisely where FMO Gewässer comes into its own: its liquid form reaches even hard-to-access areas and treats any remaining oil films directly on the water’s surface. Developed using natural ingredients

According to the AwSV, FMO is not hazardous to water (nwg) and meets the criteria for non-HME classification – meaning it is not considered harmful to the marine environment. The product is gentle on the skin, free from hazardous substances and does not damage seals.
